Tasting for subscribers of Albéniz Cheeses, an international benchmark in the dairy sector

Around fifty subscribers, selected by lottery from among the more than one thousand who signed up for the experience, took part last week in the tasting offered by MUNDO DN in collaboration with Quesos Albéniz (Grupo Quesos La Vasco Navarra S. A.). The fun and gastronomic proposal allowed them to enjoy five different types of this product, in which the Navarrese company is a national and international benchmark.

The tasting was led by the Export Manager of Quesos Albéniz, Jorge Marcos, and his colleague Santiago García. Also present at the beginning of the afternoon was Sinforiano Pérez de Albéniz, founder of this company with more than forty years of cheese-making tradition.

During the hour and a quarter that the guided tasting lasted, the attendees tasted the following types of cheese: Albéniz pasteurised goat’s cheese, cured three-milk blend cheese, smoked V Navarra cheese, Albéniz sheep’s cheese with olives and Albéniz fresh goat’s cheese. In an extraordinary way, the subscribers were also able to try a cheese that is not yet on the market but is a new Albéniz product which is a novelty from Albéniz: Sheep’s milk cheese with flowers.

Albéniz’s Export Manager, Jorge Marcos, led the tasting and explained the peculiarities of each cheese. He also gave some details about the history of the brand: “The company is currently run by the third generation of the family that created the company and, today, Quesos Albéniz has become one of the leading producers of pressed cheese. Albéniz has become one of the main producers of pressed paste cheeses in Spain. We make all kinds of cheeses with different cheeses and maturities.

Among the companies in the dairy sector in Navarre, we are one of those with the greatest international presence. Specifically, we are present in more than 50 countries and we export 10% of the company’s turnover”.
